Since I am based out of Charlotte, NC, many times I don't get to meet my northern bride and grooms till the day of the wedding. Luckily, I was able to do Laura and Sundeep's engagement photos near their home in Astoria, NY before their big day. This way, I was able to know ahead of time how awesome they would be to work with :) Winter was quickly falling upon all of the North, leaving very little greenery left. Luckily I found a park nearby their wedding location to do their "first look" and figured we would just make the best of whatever nature had left us. It honestly could not have been a more perfect location. The sun was setting in just the right spot, providing beautiful natural lighting and a sunset. The tall grass in the surroundings showed off the lighting perfectly and provided the perfect backdrop for a romantic first look. I've said it before, and I'll say it again...I LOVE doing a first look. Sundeep was able to see his bride for the first time privately and have a moment together before the craziness of a wedding day. This enabled us to have plenty of time to do beautiful photos of the couple, utilize the BEAUTIFUL sunset, and let them enjoy their cocktail hour and reception with their guests. The icing on the cake for the evening though was how they meshed both cultures by having an Irish clog dancer perform as well as Bollywood dancers....so fun!
